What Happens?[]
"That's the fun of making a new friend. Sometimes you'll discover that what's outside is different from what's inside." - (Granny on Lola and Daffy hesitating to befriend Marvin for being "weird")
Bugs, Lola, Tweety, Sylvester, Daffy, and Taz, excited about a visitor coming to Granny's house, are digging on the pit at the sandbox. Marvin suddenly comes to the sandbox, and Bugs shakes at the feeling of being watched. The other babies were surprised at Marvin's presence.
Bugs tries to greet Marvin, but Marvin fidgets his feet and fingers. The babies ask who the visitor is and what he is doing. Taz jumps out of the pit and shakes hands with Marvin. Marvin wobbles from Taz' handshake; he pulls his hand away from Taz and mutters. Insecure of Marvin's presence, the babies continue digging and pretend that they don't see Marvin. Meanwhile, Taz entertains Marvin and Bugs pulls Taz' leg down to the pit. While digging, Bugs asks Lola whether Marvin has left the sandbox. Marvin suddenly jumps on the pit; Taz lends his shovel so Marvin can dig. Marvin wants to dig the pit like the other babies, but he was met with resistance by the other babies. The babies go out of the pit, thus leaving Marvin alone.
Back at Granny's house, Bugs tells Granny of a "strange kid" in the sandbox. Granny introduces the "strange kid" as Marvin and reminds the babies to befriend Marvin as they are new to him. The babies go inside, and Bugs introduces Marvin to their playroom. Asked by Bugs about their playroom, Marvin mutters and fidgets his fingers. Sylvester hands over his broken car, and Lola throws a worn-out ball—Marvin kept them inside his suit. As Marvin stares at Bugs' toy rocket, he quickly runs and holds it. Bugs grabs the toy rocket from Marvin and throws it away. Bugs jumps over the toy rocket and accidentally crushes it, but he blames Marvin for "breaking" his favorite toy. Marvin mutters and shakes his head in denial. Taz comes into Marvin's defense and tells Bugs that Marvin did not break the rocket; however, a visibly angry Bugs isn't convinced and pulls Taz' arm.
While Marvin is left out, the babies carry out a plan against Marvin before he "wrecks their stuff". They go outside and introduce Marvin to a game called "hide-and-don't-seek"; Bugs pushes Marvin to the tree to stand there, and the babies run back inside. Their plan "worked," with Marvin staying still at the tree. Then, Taz goes out to seek Marvin and says, "Here comes Taz! Taz find Marvin! Taz find Marvin!" However, Marvin keeps his eyes closed and ignores Taz. Worried, Taz stops and checks on Marvin. Marvin turns to Taz and starts to cry. Taz looks from Marvin to the window where the other babies are laughing at them. Taz cheers Marvin up and seeks to befriend him. Marvin nods at Taz, accepting his offer of friendship.
Inside Granny's house, the babies smash a balloon with their rackets. Tweety asks the babies, "Do you suppose we might have been unfriendly to that fellow?" Later, Lola and Daffy find out that their broken toys were gone. Tweety calls the babies and they see Taz and Marvin playing on the slide. As the babies go outside to the sandbox, Bugs angrily asks Taz what he is doing. Daffy tells Taz, "You can't play with him! He's weird!" Taz tells Daffy that Marvin isn't weird and that Marvin helps fixing their toys. The babies are surprised that their toys are not broken; Tweety asks Taz how come their toys aren't broken. Taz tells Tweety that Marvin fixed them, but Bugs responds to Taz sarcastically. So, to prove that Marvin can fix their toys, Bugs gets his broken toy rocket and throws it at Marvin.
Marvin stares at the toy rocket, figuring out how to fix it. But Bugs thinks Marvin isn't doing anything. Taz tells Bugs that Marvin is thinking. Marvin picks up the toy rocket, fixes it with his hands, and hands it over to Bugs. The babies were amazed with Marvin's ability to fix their broken toys. Bugs then offers Marvin to play his toy rocket and asks, "So, you wanna play?" Marvin responds an "okay", to Bugs' surprise. Daffy asks why Marvin didn't talk to them, but Taz told them that Marvin doesn't know them. Bugs realizes that Taz was right all along and the other babies feel guilty for being unfriendly to Marvin and not telling Marvin their names. Then, Taz introduces the babies to Marvin. As Taz introduces Bugs to Marvin, Marvin utters Bugs' name and shakes hands with Bugs. The babies dig again, with Marvin joining them without their resistance. Marvin then winks to the screen ending the episode.
Fun Stuff[]
- The title is a reference to The War of the Worlds by H.G. Wells.
- The "busted" car with missing wheels that Marvin later pocketed and fixed was at first broken by Taz in the episode "Taz in Toyland".
- The episode shares the same name as Littlest Pet Shop.
